It’s funny; there are some great songs that no one’s ever heard merely because the plays they were in flopped. The mechanism of broadway plays for releasing songs performed by ‘not the writer’ and showcasing the best performing talent is basically nil, but an interesting one. I wonder what the modern day equivalent would be.
